Veteran actor Firdous Jamal has reignited controversy by once again taking aim at Mahira Khan, referring to her as “an older woman.”
During a recent interview, Jamal did not hold back when asked about his previous comments on Mahira Khan.
The host revisited Jamal’s earlier remarks where he had suggested that Mahira, due to her age, should transition to more mature roles rather than playing a heroine.
Despite her acclaimed performance in The Legend of Maula Jatt, Jamal remained unapologetic, stating, “I simply spoke the truth about her age. In my view, she is an older woman.”
Firdous Jamal also challenged the widespread admiration for Mahira’s beauty, asserting, “If others find her beautiful, that’s their opinion, not mine. I don’t see her that way.” When the host mentioned that most Pakistanis consider Mahira beautiful, Jamal responded dismissively, saying, “If 90% of people think that way, it doesn’t mean I have to agree.”
Drawing comparisons to iconic actresses like Elizabeth Taylor, Jamal emphasized that his opinions on acting and beauty are shaped by his own standards and experiences.
He reiterated that his views on Mahira Khan’s suitability for heroine roles have not changed, and he remains firm in his belief that her talents lie elsewhere.
Jamal also took the opportunity to critique actor Humayun Saeed, suggesting that financial success doesn’t equate to acting prowess, using a stark metaphor to drive his point home.
