The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has announced to summon several students who earned above 90% in the Medical and Dental College Admissions Test (MDCAT) held on September 22.
FIA has made this move to investigate about the alleged paper leak issue. For this candidates will attempt a mock exam.
Previously court ordered Sindh government to form a committee to investigate entry test irregularities. The main focus of the committee was to address concerns about the alleged leak of paper. Committee also examined the study score patterns across different regions.
Later the Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered to reschedule MDCAT retake in the province. This decision was made after the committee submitted the report to SHC.
Committee presented evidence which prove that the test had been compromised. The SHC instructed the FIA to figure out the issue and complete its investigation within two months.
As per court orders the FIA’s Cyber Crime Circle in Karachi issued notices to students for questioning.
According to the notice issued to a student, who scored 194 out of 200 (97%), was asked to appear at the FIA office on November 1 with her ID for a mock test. The notice mentioned that if the student does not appear in the mock test, this will lead to legal consequences.
According to officials, similar notices have been sent to many students. Each must appear on a set date to take a mock exam and record a statement.
