Pakistani actor Feroze Khan is under fire for exposing his young son, Sultan, to a high-intensity boxing match, where he suffered a tough loss against YouTuber Rahim Pardesi in the fifth round.
All viewers know that the boxing match was too brutal to watch even for an adult person and people are questioning Feroze’s choice of bringing his son to watch his father beating and being beaten.
Footage going around on social media shows the young Sultan, distressed and sobbing, as he sat in the corner watching his dad get hit with devastating blows in the ring.
Feroze Khan appears to be comforting his son in some of the clips by hugging him tight in an attempt to provide him with some comfort.
Feroze’s opponent, Rahim Pardesi, could also be seen in the video speaking nice words to Sultan, trying to pacify him and tell him that his father is fighting his battle.
The sight, which tugged at the heartstrings of everyone watching, received a strong response on social media users, many of whom raised questions about Feroze taking his son to such an intense event.
One remarked: “This is wrong! A child shouldn’t have to see his dad getting beaten. This may be a long-lasting trauma.”
Another commented: “Who takes kids to those events? So heartbreaking to watch.”
Another user, expressing concern, asked in Urdu: “Itne chhote bachay ko aisi jagah le jaane ki kya zaroorat thi? Look at the poor child crying so much.”
Feroze Khan’s wife and son quickly came to the ring and showed support for Khan after he lost his match. Later, his wife conveyed to him words of encouragement, saying they were proud of his endeavor, even in the loss.
Both fights, held in Lahore on Saturday, triggered an ongoing conversation about how these experiences can affect young children emotionally.
