The federal government decided to convene sessions of both houses of Parliament, the sources close to the development said on Thursday.
The decision was made after the Supreme Court accepted the review petition in a case related to interpretation of Article 63-A of the Constitution.
Sources said that the consultations were held between the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs to call the sessions.
Sources also said that consultations took place regarding holding the National Assembly and Senate sessions on Monday, and the government also called back members of Parliament who were abroad.
According to sources, several members, including Khursheed Shah and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, are currently abroad.
It is reported that following the decision in the review case, there is a possibility of constitutional amendments being passed by Parliament.
Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court declared the decision related to Article 63-A of the Constitution null and void.
A five-member larger bench, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, heard the review petitions regarding the interpretation of Article 63-A.
