The meetings of the federal cabinet and the National Assembly to present the 26th constitutional amendment have been scheduled for October 17.
The sources said the special parliamentary committee meeting on the constitutional amendment will now take place on October 16 instead of the 17th.
They said that the meeting would be held on Wednesday (tomorrow) at 12:30pm, although the PTI refused to participate in the special parliamentary committee meeting.
The reports said that the federal cabinet meeting on Thursday is expected to approve the 26th constitutional amendment.
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs announced that the Senate meeting would be held on October 17 at 3pm in the Parliament House, while the National Assembly meeting has been called for October 17 at 4pm.
The sources said that the approval for the 26th constitutional amendment would first be obtained from the federal cabinet, after which it would be presented in the National Assembly and then in the Senate.
The efforts are ongoing to draft a joint proposal in the special parliamentary committee regarding the 26th constitutional amendment, which includes leaders from all parties.
All parties, except for the PTI, have submitted their drafts in the committee.
