All-rounder Faheem Ashraf will captain the national squad in the next Hong Kong World Sixes competition, according to a statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Saleem Yousuf, a former Test wicketkeeper and batsman, will be managing the team.
A combination of seasoned veterans and bright young guns make up Pakistan’s tournament squad: Hussain Talat, Danish Aziz, Aamer Yamin, Asif Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Muhammad Akhlaq (wicketkeeper), and Shahab Khan.
The Kowloon Cricket Club in Hong Kong will host this competition from November 1–3, marking its comeback after a seven-year break.
Eight teams play a shortened version of cricket called the Hong Kong World Sixes, which is a fast-paced and exciting competition. Having won the championship four times since the competition’s start in 1993, Pakistan has a rich history in this competition.
In addition, the team has finished second five times, including the most recent competition in 2017. Pakistan hopes to add yet another championship to its stellar resume this year.
With five apiece, South Africa and England are presently tied for the most Hong Kong Sixes championships. Sri Lanka, India, Australia, and the West Indies are other former champions, each having won one championship.
