Commentator Nasser Hussain discusses the next test series between England and Pakistan.
Hussain said, “The last time England was there, Pakistan in Karachi where they’ve performed, they were just forts,” in an interview with a media outlet. Very few teams were able to prevail there. Pakistan has played nine test matches since that visit, winning just two of them (at home and abroad), and losing their last five.”
“Pakistan has always been a volatile team with ups and downs, but right now they’re at their lowest point ever in all formats.”
The former English captain, who is presently in the United Arab Emirates for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, made note of Babar Azam’s decline in performance as well as the frequent coach-captain turnover in Pakistani cricket.
Hussain was eager to caution the English side against becoming complacent, stating that it would be naive to think that victory in Pakistan would be simple. They are an extremely patriotic cricket-loving country. He said, “They will still be an impact at home and they won’t like the state of decline they are in.”
The eagerly awaited Test series featuring Pakistan and England is scheduled to start on October 7 at the Multan Cricket Stadium. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released an amazing line-up of commentators for the match.
Former England International captains David Gower, Michael Atherton, and Nasser Hussain are at the top of the commentary team.
