The Robotaxi is designed for fully autonomous driving and is set to be available after 2026. Musk predicted its price under $30,000 (£23,000). While introducing Tesla’s advancements in self-driving technology, he said that the vehicle will eventually allow passengers to “fall asleep and wake up at their destination.”
Tesla’s Full Self-Driving software introduced nine years ago, has faced questions about its reliability. However, Musk expressed confidence in the system’s future, promising a shift from supervised to unsupervised autonomous driving.
In addition to the Cybercab, Musk revealed a self-driving minibus capable of carrying up to 20 passengers.
The event, titled We, Robot, was livestreamed on Tesla’s website and X (formerly Twitter).
