The National Economic Council’s Executive Committee authorized ten projects totaling 172.7 billion rupees on Monday, according to Radio Pakistan.
The ECNEC postponed one project for more Ministry of Health explanation during its meeting in Islamabad, which was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
The initiatives focus on infrastructure to increase connectivity in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
Balochistan is the location of six of the authorized projects.
Furthermore, a World Bank-backed project of 29.2 billion rupees was authorized to build Karachi’s solid waste infrastructure.
Six significant development projects totaling Rs 178.1 billion in the fields of agriculture, transportation, energy, and health were recently authorized by ECNEC.
Separately, during its meeting, which was chaired by Minister PDSI and Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Ahsan Iqbal, the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approved seven development projects totaling Rs 559.766 billion. Of these, the CDWP forum approved three projects totaling Rs 8.23 billion, and the forum recommended four projects totaling Rs 551.536 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for review.
The second health sector project discussed at the conference, the Rs 67.77 billion “Prime Minister’s Programme for the Elimination of Hepatitis C Infection,” was suggested to ECNEC for additional review.
In order to screen, test, and treat 50% of the population that is eligible (82.5 million people aged 12 and over) for Hepatitis C, the initiative is planned with a 51% federal contribution and a 49% provincial share.
PCR testing, quick screening, and a 12-week oral treatment plan are the objectives for those who are impacted.
