The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet assembled on Thursday in the Finance Division, with the Federal Minister of Finance, Muhammad Aurangzeb, serving as the chair.
A total of Rs. 245 billion in Technical Supplementary Grants (TSGs) to different Ministries/Divisions were approved by the committee.
In light of revised budget projections for FY 2023–2024, a TSG of Rs. 168.834 billion is being given to the Economic Affairs Division. A further TSG of Rs. 10 billion is being sent to the Ministry of Interior to settle outstanding ration arrears for the Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts and Headquarters Frontier Corps.
In order to make up for pay deficits for the current fiscal year, the Defence Division received Rs. 23.945 billion.
The Finance Division has received a Rupee cover of Rs. 14.250 billion to enable the Women Inclusive Finance Project to be implemented successfully. The Ministry of National Food Security & Research has been obligated to pay PASSCO Rs. 6.596 billion in arrears.
Rs. 4.637 billion to the Ministry of Interior about the Civil Armed Forces in order to cover the outstanding ration liabilities and operating requirements. The Federal Directorate of Immunization (FDI) would receive Rs. 5.4 billion from the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination for the immunization program.
a seed grant to the Defence Division for the Green Tourism Pakistan Project totaling TSG of Rs. 5 billion. The Ministry of Interior will get Rs. 0.6 billion in order to build three more Corps Headquarters.
In relation to salaries and allowances, family support plans, and social projects in the fields of health and education in Gilgit-Baltistan, the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan have received rupees 4.92 billion.
To satisfy the obligations of unpaid customs charges and taxes, the Cabinet Division has been granted Rs. 126.848 million. The President Secretariat would get Rs. 29 million to cover the costs associated with “Employee Related Expenses.”
The Ministry of Housing and Works Rs. 370 million in order to settle the outstanding debts. With the purpose of building the Somali National Identification System by NADRA, the Ministry of Economic Affairs was granted Rs. 332 million.
The Finance Division received Rs. 96.9 million to facilitate the deployment of the Audit Management Information System (AMIS). The Ministry of Interior will receive Rs 5.986 million to cover any additional funding needs. The National Academy for Prison Administration will get Rs. 9.576 million from the Ministry of Interior, while the Headquarters Frontier Corps KP will receive Rs. 87 million from the Ministry of Interior.
