Prominent Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik on Tuesday proposed the formation of a NATO-style alliance to resolve the Palestinian issue.
While speaking with Pakistani anchors in Islamabad regarding the actions of the Muslim world in relation to the situation in Palestine, Dr. Zakir Naik stated that Muslim countries should establish an alliance similar to NATO. NATO has 32 member countries, and an attack on one country is considered an attack on all.
Dr. Naik suggested that the 57 Islamic countries should also form an alliance based on NATO principles. This way, Muslim nations would be stronger, but unfortunately, Muslims are currently divided.
When asked what Muslims should do about the Palestinian issue, Dr. Naik replied that every Muslim can at least pray for the cause, and the best time for that is during Tahajjud (night prayer). He also emphasized the need to spread awareness on social media platforms and to conduct peaceful protests, as protests can be quite effective.
He stated that Muslims should boycott Israeli products and, individually, contribute financially to the Palestinians as much as possible, whether it be 100 rupees or 1,000 rupees, as Allah looks at intentions.
Dr. Naik called for Muslims to take legal action against Israel in international courts and urged the media to raise their voices regarding Palestine.
He further added that if Muslims adhere to the Quran and Sunnah, Allah’s help will come in abundance. Additionally, if Muslims implement an Islamic system and establish a caliphate, such issues will, God willing, never arise.
