Renowned Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik called on the Islamic world to harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to conduct research and advance Islamic knowledge.
Speaking on Friday, Dr. Naik emphasized the importance of modern technology in shaping the future and spreading the message of Islam effectively.
Dr. Naik pointed out in his address that “AI is a transformative technology that has simplified tasks in every aspect of life. From generating graphics to answering complex questions, AI has revolutionized how we access information.”
He noted that working with graphics or conducting research was a time-consuming task in the past, but AI now makes these processes seamless and efficient. “Copying and reproducing data has become incredibly easy with AI, and this tool, if used wisely, can greatly aid in the dissemination of Islamic teachings.”
Dr. Naik also touched on the wealth of natural resources in the Muslim world, saying, “Muslims are blessed with black gold—petrol. However, we have not used our resources wisely to take control of media and modern technology, areas that are crucial in today’s world.”
He urged the Muslim community to invest in AI research and development, seeing it as a powerful tool for spreading the true spirit of Islam. “AI is perhaps the most significant tool in history that can help us communicate the message of Islam far and wide,” he added.
Dr. Naik also praised the spirit of Pakistani people, recognizing their strong devotion to Islam, regardless of where they are in the world. “Wherever I meet Pakistanis, whether it’s in Malaysia, the UK, Saudi Arabia, or Dubai, they exhibit a deep love for Islam and a passion to spread its true teachings,” he noted.
