Prominent Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik spoke out on Thursday against the spread of misinformation targeting Islam.
During an event held at the Sindh Governor House, Dr. Naik expressed concern over the negative portrayal of Islam in foreign media, calling it a significant and dangerous form of propaganda. “In today’s world, media serves as a powerful tool for misinformation,” he remarked.
He clarified that his visit to Pakistan was at the government’s invitation and expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to deliver lectures across the country, stating, “I have long wished to tour Pakistan.”
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori also spoke at the event, highlighting the gathering’s diversity, with individuals from various religions and sects in attendance. He emphasized his commitment to serving the community and praised Dr. Naik’s contributions, stating, “His efforts are recognized globally.”
Tessori further noted, “Sindh is known for its rich spiritual heritage, and Karachi stands as a vital economic center.”
