The former US president Donald Trump said that he will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi the following week. Modi is scheduled to visit the US for a number of formal engagements.
Donald Trump called India a “very big abuser” of trade during a Michigan campaign rally, but he also called Modi “fantastic.”
Without offering more information, Trump informed the assembly, “He happens to be going to meet me next week.”
This weekend, as part of the “Quad Leaders” conference with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, Modi will visit Wilmington, Delaware, the hometown of President Joe Biden.
Although the four-way Quad grouping was founded in 2007, Biden has actively promoted the alliance as part of his focus on using multilateral coalitions to contain enemies, particularly China.
Vice President Kamala Harris will lead the Democratic ticket in place of Joe Biden, who has withdrawn his candidacy for a second term in office, at the forthcoming summit. Biden will be leaving the group as US president.
Following the summit, Modi will meet with members of the Indian community and visit the UN General Assembly in New York.
