Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf lawmaker Sher Afzal Marwat revealed that government is negotiating with the PTI to ease the country’s political tensions.
Speaking on a program Marwat stated “The government has initiated dialogue with us at an appropriate level.”
Marwat revealed that party members are deliberating on initiating dialogue with the government to help lower the political temperature. However, Marwat said that the party is yet to make any official announcement about the current scenario.
Earlier, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated that there is no way to negotiate with the PTI. Tarar dismissed reports of any discussions with PTI, explaining that PTI members had only visited National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to express condolences on the passing of his brother.
Marwat, participating via video link, criticized certain government figures, saying, “As long as representatives like Attaullah Tarar, Azma Bukhari, and Sherry Rehman are involved, we cannot expect civility and refinement in politics.” He accused them of fueling division through their actions.
When questioned about the progress of the negotiations, Marwat emphasized, “Both sides understand that the real victims of this ongoing political unrest are Pakistan and its people. This realization alone highlights the need for a truce for the country’s sake.”
However, the party has not yet released an official statement regarding any potential agreement with the government to address the country’s ongoing political turmoil.
