The city of lights, Karachi is witnessing a significant increase in dengue, malaria, chikungunya, and other viral infections.
According to Sindh’s Health Department, approximately 50 patients arrive daily at Jinnah and Civil Hospital. The medical professionals reported colds, fever, and body aches symptoms in the patients.
Many of these cases are suspected to involve malaria, chikungunya, and viral infections.
The Health Department reports that there have been 1,724 confirmed cases of dengue across Sindh this year, with 1,484 of those cases occurring in Karachi alone.
Tragically, one death has been linked to dengue in the province this year.
Additionally, the health department has confirmed 411 suspected cases of chikungunya in Sindh, of which 153 have been validated.
Meanwhile, Sindh has recorded a staggering 222,239 malaria cases this year, with 1,768 cases reported in Karachi.
