Donald J. Trump has been reelected as the 47th president of the United States of America. Trump is the second president to be reelected in a non-consecutive fashion. When Biden was in the race, it was evident that Trump would win the election, but the tides shifted when Kamala Harris replaced Trump’s contender. Although voters originally exhibited confidence in Kamala, she ultimately lost the election. I believe, there are five primary reasons for the Democrats’ disastrous failure and the Republicans’ historic victory. First, Kamala neglected to address the voters’ concerns about economic issues. The study conducted prior to the election revealed that over 57% of people trusted Trump on economic issues, compared to 47% for Harris.
Aside from that, three out of every ten people confirmed that their family circumstances had deteriorated during the Democratic rule. Kamala failed to entice voters in terms of economic considerations. Second, the debate between Trump and Kamala is an additional factor. When the first debate between the two candidates occurred, it appeared that Kamala had gained voter support. Trump refused to participate in the second and third debates after she easily won the first. Furthermore, Kamala was running out of time because she was only left with a hundred days when she entered the presidential race as a presidential nominee. Third, the shadow of Biden’s policies have resulted in Kamala’s devastating downfall. I believe that is the primary reason, as Biden was an unpopular president. Biden’s approval rating has remained below 40% throughout his term, and two-thirds of people believe that America is headed in the wrong direction under Joe Biden’s administration. Fourth, Kamala failed to strike a balance between differentiation and loyalty.
People were unsatisfied with Biden’s initiatives, and she failed to distance herself from those policies. She also met with disaster because she didn’t offer voters anything new. Her primary focus was on defaming Trump by referring to him as a fascist leader who poses a threat to democratic values. But I believe people were aware of Trump’s behavior and policies, and they were more interested in understanding what you would do differently than your failed and incapable predecessors. So persistent anti-Bide feelings triumphed, and Kamala lost. Finally, the decline in crucial voters dealt the ultimate blow to the Democrats. Harris lost 13 percentage points with Latino voters, two percentage points with black voters, and six percentage points with voters under thirty when compared to the 2020 elections.
Aside from these internal characteristics, external influences had an equal importance. For example, the Democratic Party’s reluctance to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza undermined America’s soft power influence and confirmed that the United States is now a fatigued superpower. Woodward’s new book, “War,” revealed Biden and Netanyahu’s intense disagreement about the ground assault of Gaza, civilian losses, and humanitarian supplies. In which Woodward confirmed that Biden failed to persuade Netanyahu. It appears like Netanyahu’s political goal of securing long-term control in Israel triumphs, but America’s endeavor to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe suffers a significant setback. So the loss in the election was the convergence of external and internal variables.
