Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have a bun in the oven!
Bollywood’s it couple, Padukone and Ranveer, had been piquing curiosity and excitement among their millions of fans with their pregnancy rumors.
On Thursday, the Ram Leela actors shared an Instagram post anticipating the arrival of their first child.

When will Deepika Padukone turn mom?
According to the post, the mommy and daddy to be will be welcoming their bundle of joy in September of this year. The post garnered 2 million+ likes and thousands of comments from the Indian entertainment fraternity who extended their warmest wishes to the couple.
The wholesome post shared on the picture-sharing app shows the date “September, 2024” and the couple’s first names surrounded by newborn baby things.
From Kareena Kapoor Khan to Shehnaaz Gill to Alia Bhatt and Madhuri Dixit, stars from the constellation of Bollywood were overjoyed with excitement.
In an interview with Vogue Singapore, the Fighter star reflected on her parents’ — Prakash Padukone and Ujjala Padukone — upbringing of their daughter and her sister, Anisha Padukone.
Padukone said, “When I meet the people I have grown up with — my aunts, uncles, family friends — they always mention how I haven’t changed one bit. That says a lot about our upbringing… In this industry, it’s easy to get carried away by fame and money. But no one treats me like a celebrity at home. I am a daughter and a sister first. I don’t want that to change. My family keeps me grounded and Ranveer and I hope to inculcate the same values in our children.”
When asked about embracing parenthood herself, Padukone said, “Absolutely. Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family.”
A few days ago, according to The Week, the actor was reported to be pregnant and in her second trimester.
Back in 2013, in a round table conversation with Rajeev Masand, Padukone said, “If I was not an actor, I don’t know what I would’ve been doing. But hopefully with some children around. Three little kids scuttling about. Hopefully, be working enough to take them to shoots, have a happy family. And at the same time, still doing what I’m doing.”
Soon after their marriage, Singh attended the India Economic Conclave where he said, “It’s not my call really. Partly yes, it’s my call but mostly it’s just her and I allow her that. I allow her to make most of the decisions because she is better at everything. I have no qualms in admitting that she is a much more mature, much more evolved person than me.”
In 2019, rumours were brewing that the couple was pregnant. The actress, however, spoke to Hindustan Times and said,“I think it’s sad that society kind of puts itself and people in this rut that okay you are dating for so long toh shaadi kab hogi, shaadi ke baad bacche (when will you marry, after marriage it’s kids) and then grandchildren. I’m not surprised (by the rumours), we’re not surprised by it at all,” she said, adding, “Do we intent on having children? Of course we do, we both love kids. But do we intend to have children anytime soon? Absolutely not! We’re too selfishly focused on our careers, and I don’t think having kids at this point would be fair. We’re not even thinking about kids.”
Two years after the Happy New Year star’s statement, it looked like the couple was ready to embrace parenthood. Singh shared his excitement in 2021 on his TV show The Big Picture, saying, “Jaisa ki aap log jante hai meri shaadi ho gai hai aur ab 2-3 saal me bacche bhi honge. Bhaisaab, aapki bhabhi itni cute baby thi na. Mai to roz uski baby photos dekhta hoon, kehta hoon ek aisi de de mujhe bus meri life set ho jae (As you guys know I am married and may have kids in next two or three years. Bro, your sister-in-law (Deepika) was such a cute baby. I see her baby photos every day and tell her, give me one baby like this one, my life will be set).”

Last year in November, Singh and Padukone celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary, in Belgium. The dreamy couple tied the knot on November 14, 2018 at Italy’s Lake Como after dating for six years. They first met on the sets of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela. They have since starred starred in Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat.
