England has set the target of 180 runs against South Africa in 11th match of International Cricket Council ICC Champions Trophy.
England Team has been bowled out on 179 runs in 38.2 overs. The batting line up couldn’t settle from the start.
Joe root scored 37 runs on 44 and remain the highest scorer among the batters, while Jos Buttler scored 21 runs.
Jofra archer was the second highest scorer in innings, scoring 25 runs.
South Africa bowlers dominated the England batters, with Marco Jansen and Mulder taking 3 wickets. Also, Keshav Maharaj took 2 wickets, while Ngidi and Rabada took single wicket each.
Earlier, Due to poor performance of the team in Champions Trophy England Captain Jos Buttler announced his resignation from captaincy of white ball.
The England has lost its matches against Australia and Afghanistan. The team couldn’t set the tone since the start of their Champions Trophy Campaign.
In their first match against Australia their bowler couldn’t defend the target the of 352.
Ben Duckett scored a brilliant century in that match; however, it went in vain as Australia chased down the highest ever total in the history of Champions Trophy.
In addition, they also faced humiliated defeat against Afghanistan in Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
Afghanistan made their highest total in ICC trophies, thanks to Ibrahim Zadran, who scored a celestial 177 runs innings.
However, England failed to qualify for the semifinals and are placed at last number on point table in group B.
Australia has qualified for semifinals with four points. Moreover, today’s win will help South Africa to qualify for semifinal.
