Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated electric buses in Lahore, which is an important step towards environment-friendly public transport.
The fare of electric buses has been fixed at Rs 20 to 35, while students and special people will be able to travel for free.
Maryam Nawaz also announced the operation of a tram service from Thokar Niaz Beg to Harbanspura.
The Punjab Chief Minister attended the inauguration ceremony of the country’s first fully electric bus service as a special guest.
CCTV cameras have also been installed in the buses, while an automatic ramp for special people and 9 special charging stations have been set up for charging electric buses.
Electric buses will have free Wi-Fi and mobile charging facilities, the Punjab Chief Minister also visited Canal Road and traveled in an electrobus

49 female students and 14 female teachers from various universities and colleges of Balochistan met with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz at the Chief Minister’s House, Lahore.
Maryam Nawaz presented laptops and gifts to the Balochistan delegation, while the female students of Balochistan dressed the Chief Minister in a traditional Baloch shawl.

She said that there was no integrated sanitation system in 24,000 villages of Punjab, the “Sathra Punjab” program is the country’s largest sanitation program, I want to see the entire province sparkling like my own home.
The Punjab Chief Minister also expressed happiness over the start of the Champions Trophy in Pakistan after many years.
Addressing the launching ceremony of electric buses, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that providing relief to the people is a priority.
She said that after 5 years of projects and programs have been started in a single year, patients from Balochistan will also be treated in the government cancer hospital.
The Punjab Chief Minister said that 27 electric buses have arrived and will be on the roads from tomorrow, the buses running in Punjab are environment-friendly, and a consignment of 500 buses will come to Pakistan in August.
She said that the dream of Green Punjab has become a reality today, special people will get free bus cards, and the fare of electric buses will be from Rs 20 to Rs 35.
Maryam Nawaz said that if anyone harasses women, he will be caught and every big project in Pakistan has the seal of the PML-N.
