During a climate change conference held by the Supreme Court on June 8, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa urged the adoption of eco-friendly habits and a healthier way of living to tackle the pressing issue of climate change.
In his address, CJP Isa highlighted, “Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has discussed the use of hybrid cars, but we should go a step further by walking. If preferred, bicycles can be made available to all judges.”
CJP Isa also underscored the global challenge of managing plastic waste, pointing out the absence of robust systems to deal with plastic disposal effectively.
“We have overlooked the importance of nature and need to reestablish environmental values starting from our homes. To prevent further damage to the environment, we must avoid wasting resources,” said Justice Isa.
He called for a collective effort to protect the natural environment, emphasizing that significant changes must start with individual actions and choices.
