The Board of Control for Cricket in India officially informed the International Cricket Council ICC that they will not come to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The Indian cricket board plans to stick with a hybrid model and requested ICC to hold their matches in Dubai.
After this news circulated social media users started to suggest and choose another team to play than India in ICC Champions Trophy 2025. India’s stubbornness has disappointed the Indian cricket team fans.
The official Iceland Cricket account on the X platform recently posted a satirical question asking who should replace India in the Champions Trophy tournament.
In the post, social media users asked their opinions on this controversy, “Which team will replace India in the 2025 Champions Trophy?” In the poll conducted by Iceland Cricket, a large number of users suggested Sri Lanka as the replacement.
Cricket fans and social media users have expressed that if India refuses to come to Pakistan, the Pakistani government should take firm action to ensure the tournament is held in Pakistan without India.
It is important to note that the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to begin on February 19 and will be hosted by Pakistan.
As India refused to travel to Pakistan. In response, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi remarked “If India refuses to send a team for the Champions Trophy, don’t expect anything positive from us.”
