Cambridge International Education announced the results for its “highest-ever” June exam series for Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education, O-Level and International AS and A-Level around the world.
In June 2024, over 1.6 million people worldwide registered for the Cambridge international tests, up 9% from the previous year, according to an official release.
According to the statement, over 100,000 students from 683 schools in Pakistan took the International AS and A-Levels, IGCSEs, or Cambridge O-Levels.
More than 125,000 students nationwide submitted submissions for the Cambridge International AS and A-Levels, and over 226,000 students entered the Cambridge O-Levels and IGCSEs.
The most popular topics among the Cambridge O-Level and IGCSE submissions were Urdu as a Second Language, English Language, Mathematics, Islamiyat, and Pakistan Studies.
On the other hand, the most popular courses among the Cambridge International AS and A-Level applicants were computer science, physics, mathematics, business, and chemistry.
But this year, Computer Science moved up to the top five, overtaking Economics, and Business passed Chemistry.
More than 1.9 million submissions were received by Cambridge for its worldwide test series in May and June 2024. This represents a 10% increase over the previous year for credentials such as the International Project Qualification, IGCSE, International AS & A-Level, and Cambridge Checkpoint, which is intended for pupils between the ages of five and fourteen.
“With over 160 years of experience in administering international exams, Cambridge, a not-for-profit organization and part of the University of Cambridge, offers qualifications to almost one million students annually in 160 countries,” the statement said.
