The Eaton Fire and the Palisades Fire, which together have burned over 40,000 acres were still smoldering as of Wednesday.

“Infrared flights last night showed numerous hot spots still burning within the fire’s footprint, and close attention is being paid to prevent any flare-ups from spreading beyond the perimeter,” she added.
