Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko concluded his three-day official visit to Pakistan on Wednesday, marking a significant milestone in fostering closer ties between the two nations.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif saw him off at the airport in a farewell ceremony attended by top officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.
The visit was highlighted by the signing of 16 key agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing trade, economic cooperation, and bilateral relations.
Accompanied by a delegation of Belarusian business leaders, President Lukashenko engaged in fruitful discussions with Pakistani entrepreneurs to explore investment opportunities and strengthen commercial partnerships.
In a gesture of goodwill, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gifted the visiting president a custom-made photo album showcasing memorable moments from his trip. Before his departure, Lukashenko met with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif in Murree, where the two exchanged warm greetings.
Their meeting, also attended by Shehbaz Sharif, emphasized the strong personal and diplomatic ties between the two countries.
During their formal discussions at the Prime Minister’s House, both leaders reiterated their commitment to bolstering cooperation in various sectors, including trade, defense, and regional security.
The agreements signed covered diverse areas such as climate change, e-commerce, science and technology, and health.
Specific deals included halal food trade accreditation, financial intelligence collaboration, and measures against money laundering and terrorism financing.
The countries also agreed on a roadmap for 2025-2027, outlining future joint initiatives. MoUs were finalized for partnerships in disaster management, environmental protection, technical education, and international road transport, reflecting a comprehensive approach to strengthening ties.
The visit deepened bilateral relations and paved the way for enhanced collaboration across critical sectors, reaffirming a shared vision for mutual growth and prosperity.
