Bangladesh on Tuesday achieved a historic Test series whitewash over Pakistan, clinching a 6-wicket victory in the second Test held in Rawalpindi.
The landmark win gives Bangladesh a 2-0 series sweep against Pakistan, marking their first-ever Test series whitewash over the Shaheens.
On the final day of the match, Pakistan faced the challenge of avoiding a series defeat, but Bangladesh’s superior performance ensured they chased down the target of 185 runs with relative ease to secure the series.
Day Four
Pakistan’s batting struggles continued as they were dismissed for 172 in their second innings, setting Bangladesh a target of 185 runs. Resuming at 9 for 2, Pakistan’s innings faltered with opener Saim Ayub scoring 20 before being dismissed by Taskin Ahmed. Captain Shan Masood added 28 runs before his dismissal at 62. Babar Azam contributed 11 runs, ending a disappointing series for him. Other notable scores included Mohammad Rizwan with 43, while Salman Ali Agha remained unbeaten on 47. Bangladesh’s bowlers excelled, with Hasan Mahmood taking 5 wickets, Nahid Rana 4, and Taskin Ahmed 1.
Day Three
Earlier, Pakistan’s bowlers staged a strong comeback, reducing Bangladesh to 26 for 6. However, a pivotal 165-run partnership between Litton Das (138) and Mehdi Hasan Miraz (78) revitalized Bangladesh, who eventually posted 262. Pakistan struggled in their second innings, losing 2 wickets for 9 runs by the end of the day. Khurram Shehzad claimed 6 wickets, with Mir Hamza and Salman Ali Agha taking 2 each.
Day Two
Pakistan scored 274 in their first innings, bolstered by a 107-run partnership between Shan Masood (57) and Saim Ayub (58). Saud Shakeel, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan contributed lower-order runs, while Salman Ali Agha added 54. Mehdi Hasan Miraz led Bangladesh’s bowling attack with 5 wickets, supported by Taskin Ahmed (3) and Shakib Al Hasan (1).

The rain disrupted play on the first day, leading to an abandonment without any play due to a wet outfield.
