The Balochistan Assembly passed a resolution demanding ban on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) amid its protests in Islamabad.
Balochistan Minister for Communications and Works Mir Saleem Ahmad Khosa, presented this resolution. Other ministers including Raheela, Hamid Khan Durrani, Mir Sadiq Umrani, Mir Asim Kurd Gelo,Bakht Mohammad Kakar, and numerous parliamentary secretaries, backed this resolution.
Chief Minister Mir Sarafarz Bugti also attended the assembly proceeding and gave his vote in favor of this resolution. All the ministers and CM collectively condemned the PTI’s violent actions during the May 9 riots and recent protests in Islamabad.
The resolution accused the PTI for creating unrest in the country, targeting the state institutions, judiciary and media.
“This anarchist approach of PTI has disrupted the national institutions and ideological framework in the nation. A provincial chief minister’s opposition to the federation was in line with the objectives of anti-state elements”, the resolution stated.
The resolution said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has used its resources in these protests to challenge the federation, labelling it was a non-political move.
Assembly members accused the PTI to create disorder in the country. They also condemned that PTI to drive a wedge between the Pakistan Army, security forces, and the general public.
The Balochistan assembly ended this session appealing the federal government to take strict action against PTI. Assembly members argued that such a ban would ease the public’s distress caused by the party’s activities.
Remember that a separate resolution was also submitted in the Punjab Assembly by provincial lawmaker Rana Fayaz, calling for an “immediate” ban on PTI.
