A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Bahawalpur, where a girl was subjected to gang rape and disfigured with acid before being taken to Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH).
As per preliminary police report, two men allegedly took the girl to a secluded location, where they, along with other suspects, sexually assaulted her. The suspects later burned the victim with acid.
According to police statement, some bystanders came to know the incident. They took the girl to BWH and handed over one suspect to the local police.
The victim belongs to Bahawalnagar district and was living in a girls hostel of Bahawalpur’s Satellite Town, police reports say.
Early investigation disclosed that the victim was allegedly been in contact with the main suspect. The suspect has promised her to find a job for her.
A police spokesperson stated that the suspect lured the victim to meet him. When the girl agreed to meet the suspect, the suspect along with his accomplice, allegedly gang-raped her and confined her illegally, continuing their assault for three days.
When the victim’s family failed to contact her on phone, victim’s brother came to Bahawalpur and filed an FIR in the nearby police station.
Police stated that they have informed the victim’s family while the victim is admitted to the BWH.
“The girl is in critical condition and her samples are sent for forensic analysis”, official stated.
