Pakistan captain Babar Azam shared his thoughts about 11-day Kakul physical training camp, which concluded on Saturday. He described it as “extremely valuable” and “tremendously beneficial” for team’s conditioning, overall health, and team building.
The fitness camp in Abbottabad, which was organized in collaboration with the Pakistan Army, saw the participation of 29 cricket players between March 26 and April 6. During this time, the players engaged in exercises designed to improve their physical and mental toughness in order to get ready for the challenges that lie ahead on the field, particularly the home T20I series against New Zealand and the away T20I series against Ireland and England.
During the fitness camp, the Men in Green underwent an extensive training program designed to improve their overall performance on the ground as well as their leadership, agility, and strategic thinking.
“This was my third boot camp, and every time I’ve gone, I’ve learned something new. This time, our emphasis went beyond physical fitness to include team-building exercises and lectures that improve performance. Babar emphasized the importance of these components and referred to them as essential to collective performance to accomplish desired outcomes.
The star batter went on to say that the training camp reduces the danger of injuries while simultaneously enhancing individual abilities and the performance of the entire team because of its emphasis on mental toughness, physical conditioning, and collaboration.
He said, “I’m sure we’ll go back to competitive cricket as stronger, more resilient players, improving our overall performance.”
