An anti-terrorism court approved the bail petition of PTI Information Secretary Raoof Hasan in alleged terror financing allegation.
The PTI politician’s bail request against Rs200,000 in surety bonds was granted by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra.
Hasan was implicated in the case in light of co-accused Ahmed Waqas Janjua’s declaration regarding his purported participation in giving financial assistance to terrorists.
Janjua’s bail request was denied by the court on August 3.
Meanwhile, a court judgment in the aforementioned case on Saturday placed the PTI secretary general on a 14-day judicial detention at the Adiala Jail.
The politician was arrested on July 22 along with many others by the Islamabad Police, and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was then given custody of them.
While Janjua’s allegation, which said he handed him Rs. 300,000 to promote terror, was the reason for Hasan’s arrest on July 31 even though he was not initially included in the terrorism FIR.
Bukhari argued that the money could be recovered without a physical remand.
Prosecutor Raja Naveed was also present in court. Hasan was represented at the hearing today by his attorney Ali Bukhari and party lawyer-turned-lawmaker Ali Zafar.
