Furthermore, the Chief Minister has extended a cordial invitation to prominent IT entities from China to anchor their operations in this burgeoning cityscape.
Emphasizing the magnetism of IT City, Maryam Nawaz underscored the abundance of business prospects it offers to elite IT enterprises on a global scale. Moreover, she underscored its role as a bastion of erudition, slated to host branches of esteemed international universities, catering to scholars hailing from every corner of Pakistan, notably Punjab. Concomitantly, she urged the relevant authorities to expedite the solicitation process, beckoning these prestigious universities to grace the expanse of Education City with their presence.
The assembly further sanctioned the inception of a pioneering free Wi-Fi pilot endeavor in Lahore. This initiative, slated to kick off at ten strategic locales within the city’s confines in a fortnight’s time, will eventually proliferate to encompass 516 gratis Wi-Fi access points throughout the provincial capital. Foremost priority is accorded to educational bastions, airports, railway stations, and bus terminals in the provision of this Wi-Fi amenity.
The conclave convened a host of pivotal provincial ministers, advisers, and dignitaries, manifesting the government’s unwavering dedication to this audacious undertaking. With these transformative measures in motion, Lahore is poised to emerge as a frontrunner on the global IT panorama.

Chairing a momentous assembly pertaining to the ‘IT City’ and ‘Lahore Knowledge Park’ initiatives, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz articulated her resolve to expeditiously launch the IT education and ‘Film City’ projects in the city.
“IT City Lahore shall serve as a bastion of opportunity for premier IT enterprises from across the globe,” remarked Nawaz, expressing satisfaction at the affirmation of major IT conglomerates such as Microsoft and Oracle to establish their presence within the precincts of the forthcoming ‘IT City’ in Lahore.
Furthermore, she directed the relevant authorities to extend invitations to prominent Chinese IT firms to establish their operations in the city.
Nawaz also greenlit the rollout of a pilot project offering complimentary Wi-Fi services across Lahore, instructing for its prompt commencement, with educational institutions, airports, railway stations, and bus terminals being accorded precedence.
Under the initial phase of the project, complimentary Wi-Fi services will be inaugurated at ten key locations in Lahore within a fortnight, with plans to expand to a total of 516 sites throughout the city.
Meanwhile, discussions during a meeting with US Consul General Kristin K. Hawkins centered on enhancing economic cooperation and augmenting scholarship opportunities for Pakistani students within American institutions of higher learning.
