The stunning fashion scene in 2025 for Eid ul Fitr is nothing but a stunning Farshi Shalwar and a short shirt.
It is a revival of iconic Mughal-era attire that was worn between the early 20th and 21st centuries in Muslim courts of Oudh by ladies and royalties of the upper class of Uttar Pradesh, which was formerly known as the United Provinces of Agra and Oudh in North India.
The attire is known for its grace, drape, and wide flare.
This outfit was once worn by only royalty and the upper class, but it is now making waves in Pakistan’s modern fashion industry. And it seems like everybody this Eid will be wearing Farshi shalwar.
Contemporary designers are redesigning it with different fabrics and embroideries, making it a statement piece for Eid and weddings.
