Following the National Action Plan Apex Committee session, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced that a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism was emphasized during the discussions.
Sources revealed that the meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and attended by Army Chief General Asim Munir, intelligence agency heads, and senior officials, also reviewed the implementation of the 2021 National Action Plan.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister reportedly referenced the events of November 26, urging restraint in handling protesters.
This led to a heated exchange between the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Gandapur over the PTI protests.
Speaking to the media afterward, Gandapur stated that a unified approach to combating terrorism was agreed upon.
He also presented his stance on the November 26 protests and called for the establishment of a commission to investigate the matter.
Discussions about regional issues, including Kurram and Afghanistan, were also part of the agenda, he added.
