Anwar Maqsood’s video statement
In a video statement, Maqsood addressed the baseless allegations of sedition and violence spreading about him. He dismissed these claims as entirely unfounded, lacking any semblance of truth. Instead, he expressed love and respect for Pakistani soldiers who courageously defend the nation’s borders.
At 84 years old, Maqsood candidly admitted the vulnerability of his age, saying that such news causes stress and worry, which could have severe consequences for his health. The spreading of such false news has greatly distressed him and his fans worldwide.
Maqsood further disclosed the presence of 42 fake social media accounts operating under his name, while he himself maintains a minimalist approach to technology, using a basic phone and refraining from any social media presence.
Despite his appeals to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and local law enforcement agencies to shut down these fake accounts, Maqsood has been informed that such action is not feasible at this time.
