Bollywood sensation Ananya Panday, soon to be seen in Netflix’s forthcoming thriller “CTRL,” has addressed recent comparisons to fellow actress Alia Bhatt.
The actress, who recently appeared in the comedy-drama “Call Me Bae,” received praise for her portrayal of a young woman stripped of her privileged status. Fans quickly began likening her to Alia Bhatt, with many calling Panday the ‘next Alia Bhatt.’
Responding to the comparisons, Ananya Panday humbly remarked, “No, Alia Bhatt is on another level. It’s incredibly flattering that people think that, but I don’t believe I could ever match what she’s accomplished.”
Interestingly, Alia Bhatt made a cameo appearance in Ananya’s debut film, “Student of the Year 2,” while Bhatt herself had her Bollywood breakthrough in the original “Student of the Year” back in 2012.
Both actresses are gearing up for the release of their eagerly-awaited films. Panday’s “CTRL” will explore the consequences of her character handing over control of her life to artificial intelligence after a traumatic incident, only to face unforeseen challenges.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt’s upcoming film “Jigra,” set for release on October 11, will feature her in a daring role, attempting to rescue her brother (played by Vedang Raina) from imprisonment, with a gripping trailer released on September 28.
