Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan said that he is always ready for dialogue, emphasizing that discussions would be held with those who make decisions.
During a conversation with journalists at Adiala Jail on Monday, Imran Khan remarked that May 9th is his insurance policy. He asserted that if May 9th is disregarded, both his government and political career would end. He called for the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9th, suggesting that every time talks are proposed, the focus shifts to the May 9th incident.
Nonetheless, he reiterated his readiness for dialogue and confirmed that discussions would take place with decision-makers.
The PTI founder further commented that it would be a matter of pride for Pakistan if he became the Chancellor of Oxford University. However, he noted that even if he did not attain the position, it would not matter. He highlighted his unique contributions to Pakistan, particularly in cricket, where he achieved unprecedented success.
Imran Khan also emphasized his philanthropic efforts, saying that he has established two hospitals and two universities, with a third university currently under construction.
Imran Khan added that two new entries would be in the Guinness Book of World Records. The first entry would be for the U-turn where the slogan “Vote Ko Izzat Do” (Respect the Vote) was replaced with “Boot Ko Izzat Do” (Respect the Boot).
He criticized Nawaz Sharif for advocating for the respect of the vote for two and a half years while criticizing the military and martial laws. He mentioned that Khawaja Asif had spoken harshly against the military, more so than anyone else.
Additionally, Ahsan Iqbal was the first to mention the Hamoodur Rahman Commission report and had criticized the military as being a “state within a state.”
Ahsan Iqbal had also said that Pakistan was on the verge of becoming another Myanmar.
He mentioned that the second entry in the Guinness Book would be for Nawaz Sharif, who, despite allegedly having all four umpires on his side, still lost.
Imran Khan claimed that an opposition party was not allowed to play the match fairly. He pointed out that whenever it becomes known that talks are underway, the May 9th incident is brought up again, and demands are made for an apology for May 9th.
He also alleged that 74,000 votes were cast to ensure Nawaz Sharif’s victory.
The PTI founder stated that talks are underway with the government through Mahmood Khan Achakzai. He reaffirmed his readiness for dialogue, insisting that discussions would only take place with those who have the authority to make decisions.
He clarified that engaging in talks with those who do not hold such authority would be tantamount to acknowledging the electoral robbery. He outlined three objectives for their September 8th rally: the first return of the stolen mandate to PTI, the second, achieving true freedom for the country from those who have taken it hostage, and the third ensuring an independent judiciary.
Imran Khan also accused the government of attacking the judiciary to bring in Qazi Faez Isa.
