PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi criticised the PPP for double-standard on the issue of budget, saying it is playing on both sides of the field. He made it clear that entering into alliance is of PPP’s need, not of PML-N’s.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are allies as the later supported the formation of PML-N government without taking any seat in the federal cabinet. However, it secured the positions of President, Senate chairman and Punjab and KP governors in exchange of cooperation.
The MNA from Rawalpindi who is famous for issuing controversial statements and alleged involvement in notorious case of misuse of ephedrine- a controlled chemical- said the budget was prepared with the consultation of all allies including the PPP. But now, he added, it was creating a scene only to befool the public at the time of its endorsement from the parliament.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) boycotted the budget speech and announced reservations against the budgetary statements. Later, the PML-N made frequent tries to approach the allies for agreement but talks failed without any progress.
Abbasi believes the PPP creating scene only to attain public attention. It secures all important position in the government but pretends as an opposition, he said while talking to ARY, adding both cannot go side by side.
He also criticised what he described as the poor selection of national cricket team and called for merit-based picking of the players.
