Alibaba.com, one of the top platforms for business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce worldwide, has announced the creation of the Key E-commerce Leader Award (KEL Award), which is intended to recognize outstanding e-commerce providers in South and Southeast Asia.
Eligible Alibaba.com suppliers from seven nations—India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam—will compete in a national round in their individual marketplaces from August to October as part of the KEL Award, which will begin this week and run through November 2024. The top ten acts from the national round will compete in a finals that will take place in Vietnam in November. The three most deserving competitors will be named the KEL Award winners.
Participants are expected to present how they have used Alibaba.com to build and grow their export businesses, as well as the tactics they have used to differentiate themselves in the international marketplace.
The KEL Award will be judged on the content and originality of their presentations, their ability to communicate and represent their personal brands effectively, their thorough knowledge of the Alibaba.com platform, their ability to answer inquiries and clearly articulate their plans to influence and motivate other members of the e-commerce community, and many other factors.
Owners, senior staff members, and managers of businesses that sell on Alibaba.com and have been active on the platform for at least six months, with a minimum rating of two stars, are eligible to enter the competition.
Prominent suppliers in the contest will be eligible for special advantages such as expanded product showcase slots and keyword advertising prizes to increase the visibility of their items on Alibaba.com. An extra prize for the top three competitors will be a sponsored “Dream Trip” to Alibaba.com’s Hangzhou, China headquarters. Every winner from the national round will also become an Alibaba.com professor, giving them the chance to share their knowledge and experiences with other South and Southeast Asian suppliers.
“The Alibaba.com KEL Award seeks to promote cross-market learning and collaboration by providing a key venue for high-caliber small and medium-sized firms (SMEs) on our platform to demonstrate their innovation and commercial acumen.
Mr. Roger Luo, Head of South and Southeast Asia at Alibaba.com, stated, “By highlighting the success stories of the participants, we aspire to inspire countless other SMEs involved with global trade to reach new heights of achievement on the international stage.”
