Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has officially changed her name, two years after tying the knot with fellow actor Ranbir Kapoor.
In a sneak peek of The Great Indian Kapil Show season 2, Alia shared that she has now added “Kapoor” to her name.
Alia will be making an appearance on the show to promote her upcoming movie Jigra, which is directed by Vasan Bala and co-stars Vedang Raina. The film, which Alia also co-produced, is scheduled to release on October 11.
During the show’s trailer, she was introduced as “Alia Bhatt Kapoor,” marking her first public use of her new name. Alia and Ranbir, who got married in 2022, are also proud parents to their daughter, Raha.
However, her husband hasn’t yet released any statement regarding it.
Alia’s most recent Hindi appearance was in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), directed by Karan Johar, where she starred alongside Ranveer Singh.
Internationally, she was featured in the American spy thriller Heart of Stone, directed by Tom Harper and starring Gal Gadot.
In addition to Jigra, Alia has an exciting lineup of films. She will star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, set for release on March 20, 2026, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. She is also leading Alpha, a female-centric movie that forms part of YRF’s Spy Universe.
