Renowned Pakistani actor Ahad Raza Mir, known for his remarkable performances in dramas like Yakeen Ka Safar, Ehd-e-Wafa, and Hum Tum, recently addressed the backlash over a bold scene in Netflix’s series Resident Evil.
Coming from a family deeply rooted in the entertainment industry—his father, Asif Raza Mir, is also a celebrated actor—Ahad has established himself as a versatile performer both locally and internationally.
In an interview on Maliha Rehman’s YouTube show, Ahad shared his thoughts on filming the scene and the public reaction.
He acknowledged the criticism, saying, “I anticipated the backlash, but I find it odd that people are more accepting of violence, abuse, and slapping portrayed in our shows, yet intimacy or affection sparks outrage. These same audiences have no issue watching Bollywood or Hollywood films with similar content.”
He further explained the challenges of working internationally, particularly in the UK, where projects often demand certain portrayals.
“As an actor working abroad, it’s difficult to impose restrictions on what I will or won’t do,” Ahad remarked, emphasizing the importance of adapting to global industry standards.
Ahad Raza Mir is set to return to Pakistani television with the upcoming drama Meem Se Muhabbat on Hum TV, where he will star opposite Dananeer Mobeen.
Fans are eagerly awaiting his performance in the highly anticipated series.
