A Rawalpindi accountability court has postponed the hearing of the £190 million corruption case involving Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, setting the next date for September 7.
The session, overseen by Judge Nasir Javed Rana, took place within the confines of Adiala Jail, where both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were in attendance.
During the proceedings, the defense team continued its cross-examination of the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) investigation officer, Mian Umar Nadeem. This line of questioning will proceed in the upcoming session.
Additionally, the court stated that the reserved judgment on Bushra Bibi’s request for acquittal will be announced at the same time as the final decision on the £190 million case.
Representing the defense were lawyers, Usman Gul and Chaudhry Zaheer Abbas, while the prosecution team included NAB’s Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi and Amjad Pervez, among others.
