Aamer Jamal, a seam-bowling all-rounder from Pakistan, has signed with Warwickshire County Cricket and will play overseas for the club in the next season.
After arriving in Birmingham on April 25, the 27-year-old is eligible to play right away in the County Championship encounter against Nottinghamshire, which gets underway on April 26.
The cricketer’s ascent through the domestic circuit was rapid, and since the away Test series in Australia last year, he has impressed with his fast speed bowling and aggressive lower-order batting.
The speedster may be asked to participate in Warwickshire’s upcoming game on May 10 despite not having featured in a first-class match since January.
The Pakistani pacer’s acquisition thrilled Warwickshire’s performance director Gavin Larsen, who said, “He really captured the cricket world’s attention in Australia.”With all the qualities you want in a fast bowler—bounce, excellent pace, and a competitive approach—he put the Aussies to the test.
In Perth on his Test debut, he took six wickets, and in Sydney, he got the highest bowling statistics of 6-69. His explosive ball-swinging periods regularly scared Australian batting, gaining him vital breakthroughs in close circumstances.
He made significant contributions down the order, amassing 82 runs in the Sydney Test, and on several instances, his aggressive stroke play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) kept Peshawar Zalmi out of trouble.
