ISLAMABAD: After the Ministry of Law and Justice, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) chief justice too has approved the appointment of District and Sessions Judge Nasir Javed Rana as accountability court judge in Islamabad.
Judge Nasir Javed Rana will replace Judge Muhammad Bashir who has been made the officer on special duty (OSD) and directed to report to the IHC.
According to details, the IHC has notified Judge Nasir Javed Rana as accountability court judge. Judge Muhammad Bashir had heard references against six former prime ministers — Nawaz Sharif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Yusuf Raza Gilani, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Shaukat Aziz and Imran Khan.
He also heard references against former president Asif Ali Zardari.
In a related development, Special Judge Shahrukh Arjumand has been appointed Islamabad Sessions Judge East. The IHC registrar has issued a notification of transfer and posting.
