LAHORE – Mohammad Hafeez, a former all-rounder, was released from his contract by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday.
The PCB sent a thank-you letter to the previous team director on X, (formerly Twitter).
“The PCB extends heartfelt gratitude to Mohammad Hafeez, Director, Pakistan men’s cricket team, for his invaluable contributions,” a PCB statement read.
The former all-rounder’s enthusiasm was acknowledged by the PCB, who stated, “Hafeez’s passion for the game has inspired players, and his mentorship during the tour of Australia and New Zealand has been of immense importance.”
PCB expressed its best wished to Hafeez saying, ”The PCB wishes Hafeez good luck and success in his future endeavours.”
It is pertinent to mention here that while spearheading of Pakistan on their Oceania tour (to Australia and New Zealand), things did not go well for the squad, and the experienced all-rounder came under intense pressure to consider quitting.
Muhammad Hafeez has represented Pakistan in 55 Tests, 218 ODIs, and 119 T20s.
He was also elected as a member of the technical committee.
