PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has revealed his ambitious plan during an election rally on Wednesday.
He said he would abolish 17 ministries should his party come into power after February 8 elections.
He also unleashed an attack on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf during his address to the gathering. Bilawal said some PTI leaders are planted (by the establishment) and responsible for the misfortune of Imran Khan. He made these remarks referring indirectly to the former prime minister and PTI founder chairman who received 14 years jail sentence in the Toshakhana reference. A special court on Tuesday also announced 10 years jail sentence for Khan in the Cipher case.
Bilawal also holds the PTI responsible for losing its election symbol. He said the PTI failed to present any document before the Supreme Court in a case related to its intra-party polls.
The top court deprived the PTI of the election symbol “Bat” for not conducting the intra-party election. The party subsequently announced its candidates on national assembly and provincial assemblies’ seats would contest polls as independents. Many believed the PTI had been virtually deprived of the election campaign due to the role of the country’s powerful military establishment.
Bilawal said his party if voted to power would fight against poverty and give relief to the masses. He said the PPP nevere believed in the politics of revenge. He said his party has never recieved level playing field in any election, reffering to the compalints of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He said the party after coming into power would bring down inflation and provide employment to jobless. He said the PPP would bring prosperity in the Khyber Pakhtunkhaw. The PTI, he said, ravaged the province during its 10 years rule in the KP.
