The Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) has disconnected 667 connections over gas theft.
The company spokesperson says the SNGPL imposed a fine of Rs29.45 million on the consumers involved in stealing the natural gas.
In Lahore, the regional team disconnected 18 connections on illegal use of gas while another eight on the use of compressor. It imposed fine of Rs 0.16 million against gas theft cases.
In Rawalpindi, the team disconnected 111 connections on illegal use of gas while another two on the use of compressor. It imposed Rs 0.56 million on thieves. The SNGPL disconnected 67 connects over theft and use of compressor.
It disconnected 280 connections in Karak, charging thieves with Rs28.09 million. The team also lodged 18 FIRs against gas pilferers. The team of Mardan disconnected 10 connections on illegal use of gas and also imposed a fine of Rs0.06 million against gas theft cases.
The company’s anti-theft teams disconnected nine connections in Sahiwal, 59 in Sheikhpura and 87 in Bahawalpur. In Faisalabad, the team disconnected five connections on illegal use of gas while another 11 on the use of compressor.
