ISLAMABAD: The Caretaker federal government on Friday posted Ahmad Ishaque Jahangir as Director General (DG) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
According to the Establishment Division’s notification, the posting has been made against the post, lying vacant since the retirement of former director general Mohsin Hassan Butt on 31st December.
Ahmad Ishaque Jahangir, a Grade-21 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), had served the FIA in the past and recently was the Deputy Director FIA cybercrime wing.
He also heading the recently-constituted Joint Investigation Team (JIT), tasked with carrying out investigation into the ‘malign campaign’ launched on social media against judges of the Supreme Court.
