DI KHAN/LAKKI MARWAT: Three persons including a Quick Response Force official were martyred and two others injured in exchange of fire after terrorists attacked a security check-post here in the wee hours night.
DSP Hafiz Adnan informed that terrorists stormed the Abba Shaheed security check-post in Dera Ismail Khan in the wee hours of Tuesday.
He said that the attackers fled the scene after retaliatory action of the Quick Response Force. However, in cross-fire, a Quick Response Force official was martyred while two labourers working in the fields were also killed while two others sustained injuries, the DSP added.
According to the police officer, the policemen on duty noticed the movement of terrorists through the thermal camera and repelled the first attack.
After the first attack, the terrorists fiercely attacked again which was retaliated by the police.
The exchange of fire remained continued for some time and then the terrorists managed to escape from the scene.
When the search operation was launched in the morning, the dead bodies of a policeman and two labourers named Ashiq son of Sona, a resident of Sheru Kuhna and Qamar Zaman son of Sulaiman, a resident of Kahawar were found there.
While two other labourers also got injured who were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital by Rescue 1122 ambulances.
The bodies and injured were shifted to hospital.
The security personnel have launched a search operation in the area.
DO-E Lakki Marwat survives attack on vehicle unhurt
Meanwhile, the District Officer-Education (DO-E) Lakki Marwat escaped an attack on his vehicle here on Tuesday.
According to police, the attackers fired upon the vehicle of District Officer Education Ilyas near Spogamai Hotel in Tajazai area in Lakki Marwat.
The officials said the incident occurred as the DO-E was on the way to his office.

While the vehicle sustained damage, DEO Ilyas emerged unharmed from the attack.
Swiftly responding to the report, local law enforcement reached the scene, cordoning off the area and initiated a thorough search operation.
The vehicle was partially damaged in the fire, but the education officer remained unhurt while the attacker fled the scene.
