Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq, the Vice-Principal of Dar-ul-Uloom Haqania Akora kattak and leader of Jamaat-ul-Islam Sami-ul-Haq, JUI-S, has been killed in suicide blast during Friday prayer.
As per police reports, many more people were also killed in the blast while more than 20 got injured.
During Friday prayer, the suicide bomber blew himself inside the seminary, according to the police.
The attack was meant to target Molana Hameed-ul-Haq.
KP IGP, Zulfiqar Hameed, has confirmed the death of Molana Hameed-ul-Haq.
KP IGP also confirmed that it was a suicide blast.
After blast, emergency has been declared in all hospitals of Peshawar.
However, the mosque, large part of mosque has been damaged due to the blast. After the assassination of Mulana Sami ul Haq in 2018, Mulana Hamid-ul-Haq took over the party. Mulana Sami ul Haq was stabbed at his residence in Rawalpindi.
Dar-ul-Uloom Haqqania was established by Mulana Abdul Haq Haqqani in 1947.
