PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan again made the statement urging party’s supporters not to pay taxes.
The party claimed during February 8, 2024 elections that their mandate was interfered with.
Addressing a huge gathering in Swabi, he reminded that people have historically been involved and are still showcasing their power.
PTI, he claimed, had 180 seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a two-thirds majority in the region.
He also said the party had gotten a clear majority in Punjab but said the election results were changed.
PTI’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president, Junaid Akbar, thanked the large number of people at the rally.
Emphasizing the gulf between the government and the people, he rejected assertions that party’s backers were afraid.
He repeated his wish for independent, powerful institutions in Pakistan.
He stated that the country is owned by its people and should not be under outside control.
He also let slip that party’s founder was going to announce something significant soon.
PTI members were encouraged by Akbar to ready for an imminent leader’s call.
When the call arrived, he was adamant that followers have to be ready to respond.
He boldy advised PTI followers to cease paying taxes until righteousness was returned.
He called for more public involvement to recover their rights.
Finally, he thanked PTI followers for their endurance. He promised PTI would continue to battle for democracy.
